The One with the Sephora Favourites Winter Skin Saviours Set

You may have thought the Sephora Favourites unboxings had come to an end but really, they were just delayed! I got this Winter Skin Saviours set back in late September or early October. This set includes 13 luxurious products that give you glowing, hydrated skin, just in time for Winter!

While it mostly includes skincare for the face, it also contains hair and body products as well. I know I personally can use the extra hydration from head to toe especially during the colder months!

By the way, if you are interested in this set, it is currently in stock out of stock on the Canadian Sephora website. 😦  Yes, I had to edit this. I don’t know why but it seems like every time I am about to publish a post, the item I am talking about goes out of stock. >_<

Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment + First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment

While I know all about Josie Maran’s Argan Oil, I was clueless about this Argan Milk product. I didn’t know if it was an oil, a serum or what. I found out that it’s a serum that combines purified water, which plumps and hydrates, with micro-droplets of her 100% Pure Argan Oil, which nourishes, locks in moisture and preserves the skin’s youthful cushion.

This serum is supposed to be lightweight, penetrate deeply and absorb quickly for “instant, long-lasting hydration that produces a fresh, radiant glow.” Honestly, it sounds amazing to me!

Retail Value: $11.67 for 5 ml (full size is $70 for 30 ml)

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

At first I thought this was going to be a moisturizer so I was very pleased to see it was actually a serum! I find I go through serums quickly while the moisturizers in my collection tend to pile up because they take me longer to finish.

In addition to being a hydrating serum, I found it interesting that it also contains peptides, which help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. I love when a product can pull double duty like that! It also contains aloe, Hyaluronic Acid and colloidal oatmeal.

The best part? If I end up loving this serum, it’s very affordable!

Retail Value: $11.25 for 7.5 ml (full size is $45 for 30 ml)

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum + Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum

This set contains quite a few serums, which I absolutely love. It’s like they knew exactly what I needed to stock up on in my collection! Thanks Sephora! XD

Sephora describes it as “an oil-free serum that captures and continually diffuses water within the skin to restore its moisture balance and leave skin feeling soft and supple.” So it’s another hydrating serum which is perfect for me because I’m always looking for extra ways to add moisture to my skin.

It contains Caudalie’s signature grape water to moisturize and soothe the skin as well as Hyaluronic Acid and grape-seed polyphenols, which provide antioxidant protection against UV rays.

Retail Value: $19.67 for 10 ml (full size is $59 for 30 ml)

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

This is the final serum included in the set. The Truth Serum is actually included in a lot of Sephora sets. It’s become my go-to Vitamin C serum because I just seem to have an endless supply of these deluxe sized versions!

The reason I like this serum is because it helps brighten up my skin and reduce my redness, while also smelling absolutely deliciously of oranges! It’s also super fast absorbing and layers well with my other skincare. I feel like it also adds some hydration to my skin.

It contains Vitamin C which is a great anti-aging ingredient because of it’s antioxidant properties, as well as collagen which improves the skins elasticity.

Retail Value: $22.50 for 15 ml (full size is $75 for 50 ml)

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream + Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Treatment Lotion

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream

I feel like this cream is in a lot of Sephora sets as well. Interesting that this is a bigger size than I normally see included. I have to wonder if Sephora has some sort of deal with some of these frequently featured companies. XD Or do they have an overabundance of certain deluxe samples so they stick them in sets?! I mean, who really knows!?

Anyway, this is an excellent cream regardless. It’s very rich so it’s best as a night time moisturizer. I have never experienced any breakouts from using it before. Sometimes I have to stay away from richer formulas but this one was good to me!

This cream uses their patented Hydro Ionized Mineral Water to help retain hydration and prevent moisture loss. They also use olive squalane to strengthen the skin’s natural barrier and to nourish the skin!

Retail Value: $18 for 20 ml (full size is $45 for 50 ml)

Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Treatment Lotion

I definitely thought this was a moisturizer because it says “lotion” in the title. I even had it in my box of moisturizers! But I just realized that it was very liquidy and so I investigated and it’s actually more like a toner!

I lover toners so I’m happy that this isn’t a moisturizer, only because I have a billion in my stash. It doesn’t say anywhere outright that this product is a toner but that is what I am assuming and how I plan on using it.

This is formulated with Dr. Andrew Weil’s mega-mushroom blend to soothe and hydrate the skin, as well as Narcissus lily bulb which helps defend skin against aging.

Retail Value: $6.30 for 30 ml (full size is $42 for 200 ml)

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum + Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum

This is a 2-in-1 product that functions as both a serum and a moisturizer. From what I read though, it’s more of a serum-like consistency so that’s probably where I’d use it in my skincare routine.

It contains Hyaluronic Acid to plump and hydrate the skin while also targeting fine lines and wrinkles. It also promises a smooth complexion and to improve the look of skin firmness and elasticity.

I’m excited to try this. Kate’s products are super expensive so it’s nice to get them in sets like this to try first.

Retail Value: $17.10 for 7.5 ml (full size is $114 for 50 ml)

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream

I have a couple of these moisturizers in my stash already. I am actually just about done my current moisturizer and this product is next in line! I’m excited to finally get to try it!

This is another product that contains Hyaluronic Acid! It also has tamarind extract and papaya enzymes. I find I almost always love products that have papaya enzymes in them. It exfoliates the skin and leaves it so soft and bright!

It also contains alpha-arbutin isibly which is supposed to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Sunday Riley claims that this product increases hydration “by up to 68% in as little as 15 minutes for up to 24 hours of continuous moisture.”

Retail Value: $13.60 for 8 g (full size is $85 for 50 g)

Boscia Tsubaki Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask + Fresh Rose Face Mask

Boscia Tsubaki Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask

Surprisingly, this product is not available to buy individually on the Canadian Sephora website. It is available in a Boscia “Mask It All” set but that is it. I ended up taking the price from the Boscia website to calculate its value.

I really enjoy sleeping masks to add extra hydration to my skin. I almost always wake up with not only more hydrated skin, but it always looks plumper and brighter too! So I’m excited to try this one to see if I get the same results!

Their Tsubaki oil acts as an anti-aging moisturizer with comparable antioxidant properties to Vitamin C. It hydrates, firms, and protects against free radical damage!

Check it out here!

Retail Value: $8.50 USD / $10.85 CAD for 20 g (full size is $34 USD / $43.41 CAD for 80 g)

Fresh Rose Face Mask

This is definitely another frequent inclusion in the Sephora sets. Unfortunately, it’s not really my favourite mask. I didn’t feel like it did enough for my skin to want to keep using it. I think it was soothing and calming and my skin did appear more even but I didn’t notice any brightening or hydration benefits.

It contains pure rosewater, real rose petals, cucumber extract and aloe vera gel – all very soothing ingredients. If you are having skin irritation, I can see this mask really helping.

Retail Value: $11.25 for 15 ml (full size is $75 for 100 ml)

Eve Lom Cleanser + Muslin cloth

Eve Lom Cleanser

This cleanser came with a muslin cloth. It’s actually a cleansing balm that is supposed to deep cleanse the pores without stripping or drying the skin. It’s a cleanser that has been around for 30 years, which sounds impressive! Hopefully that means it is great!

It contains lots of good oils for the skin – Egyptian chamomile, eucalyptus, clove and hops oil. These ingredients work together to soften, soothe, tone, decongest and lift away impurities, dirt, oil, and makeup for a radiant complexion, while also delivering antibacterial properties for visibly clear skin.

Retail Value: $19.80 for 20 ml (full size is $99 for 100 ml)

Sephora Collection Avocado Hand Mask + Ouai Treatment Masque

Sephora Collection Avocado Hand Mask

I’ve been wanting to try one of Sephora’s hand masks for a long time! I’ve bought them before as stocking stuffers but never bought one for myself! I really like using hand masks because they’re so moisturizing and relaxing.

According to Sephora, this mask nourishes dry skin intensely and soothes and repairs damaged hands! That makes it perfect for Winter. I don’t know about you but my hands get super dry in the cold weather so they need all the extra care they can get!

Check it out here!

Retail Value: $8 (full size)

Ouai Treatment Masque

I have very dry hair so I love to use deep conditioners and masks! While this is only enough for one use, it should give me a good enough idea to see if I like it or not. It does claim to be restorative and leave hair incredibly soft and smooth in just one treatment!

It contains tamarind seed extract, the natural version of Hyaluronic Acid, which hydrates the hair while also providing a velvety moisture barrier to keep hair hydrated. It also has keratin to bond with the hair cuticle to smooth and repair damage.

Check it out here!

Retail Value: $5 for one 9 ml packet (full size is $40 for eight 9 ml packets)

Total Retail Value: $174.99

Final Thoughts? Sephora was extremely accurate with their $175 value! Very rarely do I calculate almost spot-on with their calculation! I really do think this set is worth it, especially considering I paid less than a third of that price. Not only did I receive some old favourites but there’s a bunch of new-to-me products that I’m very excited to try.

I also love that these are all hydrating products which, for me, is very essential during these colder months. My skin usually instantly dries out the second cold weather shows up. XD

Free Samples

The free samples I received included with this order were the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible OilHourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint, and Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Eau de Parfum. I also used a code to get a free 5 ml AmorePacific The Essential Crème Fluid which is worth $6.94.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this unboxing! I still have one more Sephora Favourites set to showcase on my blog but I’d like to get my October Favourites and Empties posts done before finally doing that one.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what your thoughts were! Hope everyone had a great weekend! xx

  1. I love the Ouai hair mask! It’s so nice and really makes the hair soft! I really want to try out the Truth Serum! I’ve been looking at it for awhile now.

    1. Oh I can just imagine! Things from the US are very expensive for Canadians to get as well. We are lucky to have Sephora but they actually jack up the prices a lot (even more than the exchange actually is) and often in sets, they leave out a bunch of products that the American sets get. It’s frustrating but nothing to be done about it!

      1. Haha wow, I didn’t know they did actually have a Sephora! I wonder if they got rid of it or if it’s still there! Most UK based bloggers always say there is no Sephora over there. It’s really unfortunate!

  2. I love Sephora Favorites Sets these are such great value. I try to get my hands on a couple during the VIB sales and I always get the Give me More Lips Sets. 🙂 I think these are best value and get to try so many products at a time. 🙂

  3. The went out of stock the moment I wanted to put it in my cart! I’ll have to check if it’s still in store. I haven’t tried a lot of the products in the set which is mostly why I wanted it. I have used the Fresh Rose Mask and I like it.

    1. I’ve had good luck with finding these sets in store when they’re out of stock online! But I live in a small city so our Sephora probably isn’t as busy as the ones in Toronto! I hope you can find it!

  4. Oooh I’m really intrigued by that avocado hand mask – my hands are chronically dry, especially in the Winter and I love their sleeping mask. Have to give that a try.

I’m currently using a deluxe sample of the Laniege Moisture Bank cream and I really like it too, definitely super moisturizing, especially at this time of year.

This seems like a fantastic set and such great value – hopefully it comes back in stock for next weekend, I’d like to pick it up. 🙂

    1. My hands are like that in winter too. It’s so uncomfortable! I’m glad you like the Laneige cream! I think it’s very nice! I really hope the set comes back in stock or maybe if you have a store nearby, it will be in stock there. That is how I got my hands on the Lashstash set when it went out of stock online!
