Today I am back with another Sephora Favourites value set! This is primarily a skincare set with one hair item thrown in to the mix. This is the Canadian version of the set. The American version actually features 4 more items. I’m not sure why the Canadian sets keep getting the shaft but with that said, I’m still happy with what is included inside.
The products not included in the Canadian version are: Cane + Austin Miracle Pad+ (3 treatments), Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial, Skin Laundry Gentle Foaming Face Wash and Youth To The People Age Prevention Cleanser. There is also one difference in product. Americans get the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil while Canadians get the C-Firma Day Serum instead.
So let’s get started breaking down each product included and their values! All prices in CAD.
Includes: 8 items
Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer
I have not tried this brand yet but I see it everywhere. All over Instagram and blogs! This seems to be a well loved brand. It’s also a very expensive brand! I’m not the kind of person who can drop a lot of money on a product I’ve never tried before so getting deluxe samples of these pricey items really helps me decide if I will buy a full size.
With that said, I don’t see myself ever paying $140 for a moisturizer. Unless it magically healed all my skin problems and made me look like Scarlett Johansson. Only then would I pay that much! XD
This moisturizer is for dry skin specifically. I have oily/combination so I would have to use it at nighttime. I do like the sounds of it though. It’s formula is described as silky and it contains Hyaluronic Acid for a shot of age-defying hydration!
Retail Value: $28 for 10 ml (full size is $140 for 50 ml)
Lancer Skincare The Method: Nourish
I’m starting to see a trend here. Another crazy expensive product! This product is actually the 3rd step in a series of products called “The Lancer Method.” Step 1 is Polish and step 2 is Cleanse.
This is an anti-aging moisturizer that contains Hyaluronic Acid and peptides to hydrate the skin and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin is said to look smooth, plump, visibly renewed, and glowing afterwards.
I am in search of a Holy Grail moisturizer so I enjoy getting new ones to try but I always hope that I won’t fall in love with the expensive ones!
Retail Value: $24 for 7.5 ml (full size is $160 for 50 ml)
Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask
I am really happy this was included in the set! I remember stumbling across this product online recently and I wanted to try it! It was just a few weeks later that this set was released so I’m glad to have it in my collection now!
Because it’s a clarifying mask, it’s suited for acne prone skin, which I have. It uses white willow bark and aloe leaf to unclog pores, papaya and pineapple enzymes to exfoliate and the blue tansy oil to soothe irritated skin and reduce redness. It also contains Salicylic acid.
I didn’t expect the mask to be a gel-like liquid! When I opened it up, I almost tipped some product right out of the jar (which is glass, by the way). I’m excited to give this a go!
Retail Value: $12 for 14 ml (full size is $60 for 70 ml)
Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
I actually have a sample of this mask already! I haven’t used it yet because I’m pretty strict about using all my oldest samples first before opening my new ones. Sometimes curiosity gets the better of me and I end up breaking my rule. I may have to open one of these up because I’ve been dying to try something from Farmacy!
This mask is unlike any I have tried before because it is said to have a warming sensation when you massage it into the skin. It also transforms from a jelly to a rich cream. This mask is mostly to add hydration to the skin using their special honey as well as glycerin.
Retail Value: $5.77 for 9 g (full size is $75 for 117 g)
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum
I will admit that this product was a big reason I wanted to buy this set! I use the tester at Sephora all the time but just on my hand so I don’t know how it performs on the face. It’s another super expensive product so having a mini to try first is ideal!
It is described as “a super potent vitamin C day serum packed with powerful ingredients to firm and brighten the appearance of skin.” I use a Vitamin C serum daily (the Truth Serum from Ole Henriksen) but I feel like there could be better ones out there. This Drunk Elephant one is neat because it has a reservoir effect. That means it cannot be washed or rubbed off and will remain active on the skin for 72 hours! I’m not sure if that means you are intended to skip a day or two of application?
If I love this, I’m seriously considering buying the full size set with the bonus items they have at Sephora right now!
Retail Value: $26.67 for 8 ml (full size is $100 for 30 ml)
Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
I fell in love with a Biossance Squalane oil called “The Revitalizer” a couple years ago. Since they did a redesign of their packaging, they changed the name to “100% Squalane Oil.” It was super hydrating and felt so nice on the skin. Not at all greasy!
This version of Squalane oil also contains Vitamin C rose oil which I think will make it even more awesome! The pure Vitamin C it contains is 50 times better than ascorbic acid. It also claims to leave skin firm and supple.
Because I liked The Revitalizer so much, I’m pretty sure I will enjoy this!
Retail Value: $12 for 4 ml (full size is $90 for 30 ml)
IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel
This is the lone hair item in the bunch! It is suggested to apply this to towel dried hair and let hair air dry for optimal separation and hydration. That sounds perfect for me because 99.9% of the time, I air dry my hair.
The product promises to weightlessly moisturize and condition the hair for lustre and softness, replenish lost nutrients and improve shine and natural body of the hair.
I’m always in search of great hair products that will tame this unruly mane so I’m excited to give this a try!
Retail Value: $3.62 for 15 ml (full size is $35 for 145 ml)
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
This has come in so many Sephora sets! I have 2 minis from sets already (and another from points items!). I am in love with this stuff though so more minis are always welcome. I already know this is a product I want to repurchase when I run out of my full size so having minis will put off that purchase for a little while anyway.
If you don’t know by now, the Bum Bum cream smells incredible and I would probably continue buying it for that reason alone! But aside from that, this cream really performs as it promises. It’s described as a “fast-absorbing body cream that helps tighten and smooth the look of skin” which from my experience is 100% accurate.
Retail Value: $5.70 for 24 ml (full size is $57 for 240 ml)
Total Retail Value: $117.76
Final Thoughts? I calculated $7.76 over Sephora’s value. I’d say that’s pretty close though and it could be due to me making the calculation off the standard size while Sephora could be making their calculation based on the mini or value size. Who knows!
While at first it is a little upsetting that Canadians get 4 less products, I think the value still makes this set worth the purchase! If you’re a skincare junkie like myself but still trying to figure out what works for your skin, these sets are perfect to help you along your journey!
This was my last purchase I made before I reached VIB Rouge. I’m not proud of this because it means I have spent way too much money at Sephora this year! XD But with that said, my final order before Rouge status obviously had to be at least $50 to get the free shipping! So I bought this mascara set.
Touch in Sol Mini Magic Mascara Duo Set
This set is from a Korean brand and contains minis of the Paper Pusher Mascara and Stretchex Mascara! A couple of years ago, the full size of the Stretchex was included in the big Sephora Favourites Superstars set.
I fell in love with it because it truly added so much length to my lashes. It even has this really unique stretching of the lash sensation when you brush it through. I feel like it’s getting the very tip of my lashes and beyond! But the weird thing is, Sephora doesn’t sell the full size of this mascara at all! They only sell it in this duo set (they sell the Paper Pusher in full size).
I’ve been having trouble with stubby lashes lately. Anyone else have inconsistent lashes? Usually one eye has great lashes and the other eye has awful ones, and the awful side really has a hard time gaining any length no matter what mascara I use! So I was hoping that the Stretchex is as good as I remember and it will make a difference on my awful side.
I should note that it does not add volume at all. Length and separation is where it shines! I almost always pair it with another mascara for volume. I haven’t tried the Paper Pusher at all. It is apparently also lengthening but contains fibres so I’m not sure if I’ll like it but we’ll see!
While I didn’t really care if I was getting an amazing deal or not, it works out that I am. Each mascara mini is 4.1 ml while the full sizes are 6 ml for $25. That makes each mini cost $17.08 so this set has a value of $34.17! I paid $18 for the set.
The code I used to obtain this Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara mini was BOLDLASH. I have been wanting to try this mascara since I saw Rachhloves use it in one of her videos and it looked amazing. One of the best I’ve ever seen on her! She does have naturally beautiful lashes though so we’ll see if it does me any good!!
And my 3 free samples are the Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector in Peach and Bisque, Tory Burch Bel Azur Eau de Parfum, and the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara. That’s 4 new mascaras to try out! XD
Random thought but I think I am going to continue posting my Instagram photos on the blog. Probably every Saturday or Sunday. Maybe even Monday if I have a busy weekend (like this one for example!). I’ll use the post to not only post my pictures but continue the “chatty” style of them to add some personalization to my blog.
Thanks for reading and I hope you found this review helpful! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! I hope it was wonderful and you got to spend time with your loved ones.
