I figured you may be sick of Sephora Favourites posts so time to switch it up! Although I will have a few more of those at some point… 😛 Another skincare one just popped up on the website so there goes my money…
I have a lot of empties for you this month! The funny thing is about halfway through September, I was thinking, “wow, I am not going to have much to post about this month” but the last couple of weeks, apparently I powered through!
I’m going to try to break them down into categories this time around. There may be the odd item in the wrong category just due to how I took my pictures but I try to keep similar items grouped. I’ll try to keep reviews short since there are so many. And without further ado, let’s get into it.
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
This is the closest “dupe” for Batiste that I have tried! I say dupe with quotations because I know most people associate dupes as the cheaper product but in this case, I just want to express their similarities.
My problem with most dry shampoos is that while they soak up the oil, they leave my hair flat. What I always liked about Batiste is how my hair kept its volume and the Klorane does the same thing! To me, they are almost like the same product except Batiste smells better.
Repurchase? I don’t think so. While I really liked it, I’m just not sure why I would spend $25 on it when I can spend $8 on Batiste.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
It seems like everyone loves this deep conditioner but I’m just not sure how I feel about it. It just didn’t make my hair super soft or sleek and I felt like I had to use so much product.
But I would be willing to give it another chance. The shampoo I used with it at the time was Schwarzkopf BlondMe which dries the crap out of my hair! I’m finding that some of my conditioners aren’t softening my hair up enough after using it. I’m tempted to just toss that shampoo, honestly. I don’t like to do that but I’d rather find a different shampoo for blond hair that doesn’t dry out my hair.
On the other hand, the Ogx Coconut Curls conditioner has no problem softening my hair up after using that harsh shampoo… so I’m a little torn.
Repurchase? No. I want to try another sample, though.
Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction Leave-In Hair Perfector
I’ll take “Unnecessarily Long Product Names” for 500, Alex! Why, just why, do some companies like to give their products the longest names ever?!
With that said, this stuff is awesome! It did an excellent job at adding moisture to my hair, controlling frizz and leaving my hair sleek and soft. It doesn’t hurt that it also has heat and UV protection!
Repurchase? Yes, when I finally get through my current hair product stash!
Avène Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream
This was such a nice light cream! I really liked it. This tube lasted quite awhile. I think it’s a great cream for summer time for me. I don’t think I could get away with it in the winter time when my skin gets a little more dry and I need something heavier.
Repurchase? Yes, at some point.
Nuxe Nuxellence Éclat Youth and Radiance Revealing Anti-Aging Care
Another super long name! I talked about this stuff before in my August Favourites. I have never used a product before that brightened my skin as much as this did! I looked so radiant, my skin tone was even and my redness gone! I can’t rave about it enough. It’s very expensive though at $71 for a full size!
Repurchase? Yes, I may suck it up and pay the hefty price tag because it’s that good.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Surface Hydration Formula
I really enjoyed this cream! I mainly used it during the day under makeup. I liked how light it felt on my skin but I could feel just how moisturizing it was. It didn’t do anything weird to my makeup like cause pilling and it smoothed out my skin nicely.
Omorovicza Cleansing Foam
This product I finished up at the very beginning of September and I’m having a hard time remembering why I wasn’t crazy about it. I need to start writing my thoughts down so I don’t forget!
I think I wasn’t happy with how it’s called a cleansing foam yet I didn’t find it to foam much at all. I found I had to use a lot of product. Other than that, I can’t remember if there were other reasons I didn’t like it. I think it was fine as far as cleaning my skin but I don’t think it’s worth $100 for a full size.
Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel
The thing I liked most about this eye gel was the smell! It smelled like cucumbers! It also had a cooling effect which was nice. I didn’t mind this product but I just don’t think I can get on board with a gel eye cream. There was too much pilling for my liking.
Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser
I just got this in my September Ipsy. Normally my newest stuff goes to the back of the line, so to speak, but I was just too curious about how this powder cleanser was going to be!
Turns out I really like it! It actually lathers on the skin and feels really nice. Not grainy or anything! I also felt this cleanser left my skin looking very soft and brightened! I’m not sure how the full size is packaged. I’m not a fan of these little packets!
Repurchase? Maybe. I have no idea how much it is or how easy this brand is to get so those are always factors.
Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes
This was an okay cleanser. I really didn’t find it did anything special. It didn’t leave my skin feeling hydrated or radiant nor did it lessen my redness. Those are things I look for in a cleanser. It didn’t dry my skin out or anything but it didn’t do anything more than just clean it for me.
Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Beauty Vinegar
I got this product from Glam Sense and I actually did a full review on it plus other Roger & Gallet products here. I love this toner! It does not smell like vinegar or anything weird. It’s just made from fruit vinegars. But it exfoliates and leaves my skin so smooth, reduces redness and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight.
Repurchase? Maybe. It’s pretty cheap for a Sephora product ($25) but at the same time, I don’t normally spend that much on a toner.
O.R.G Mineral Peel Face
This stuff is really good at ridding your face of all the dry skin and any dirt/product buildup. If you need a quick fix at smoothing out your skin or getting rid of dry patches, this is it. The only thing is it can be hard to remove from any hairs on your face.
Repurchase? No, I already have a full size and it’s not something I find myself reaching for a lot.
Julep Boost Your Radiance Reparative Rosehip Seed Facial Oil
I love this oil! It’s the first rosehip oil that I have tried and I found it very nice. I used it as a final step in my night time skincare routine and I always found I woke up with radiant and hydrated skin.
GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment
I probably talk about how much I love this stuff a lot, so I’ll keep it short. Basically, this helps my acne a lot! It always makes my blemishes smaller and go away faster. You can read my full review here.
Repurchase? Yes, at some point. I have a big stash of it right now.
Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
This mask is really good! I enjoy using it. I see a difference in my skin after. I find my pores minimized and my skin smoother and brightened. I like that you can see where it’s bringing the impurities to the surface.
Repurchase? Probably not because there’s a Formula 10.0.6 Detox mask I really like and it’s only $10.
Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask
I actually worked up the courage to ask for a sample at Sephora! XD I hear so many horror stories about bad customer service at Sephora that I think it actually instilled the fear in me! But I find the ladies at my Sephora pretty friendly so I finally asked.
I honestly expected not to like this mask. I read some reviews where people didn’t like it. But sometimes there are products that while you may have read a bad review, something about it makes you still want to try it. That was this mask for me!
It is seriously so good! I’m so glad I trusted my gut and tried it. My skin was so soft, even and radiant after using this which is exactly what the mask promises! It also contains tons of anti aging ingredients so use over time will help protect your skin from aging.
Repurchase? Not right away but yes, at some point I would like to buy it despite how expensive it is.
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask
I rave about this sleeping mask any chance that I get! It is the perfect addition to my skincare routine. Some nights I use more acne fighting products or anti aging products which may not be the most moisturizing. This is the perfect final step to add some moisture to my skin!
Repurchase? Yes, I have already bought a full size!
Fresh Rose Face Mask
I found this mask a little disappointing. I didn’t find it did much for my skin. It has a cooling effect and because of that, it’s very soothing and relaxing! But I couldn’t see a significant difference in my skin after use.
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask
I think a firming mask I am more likely to see results over time but I did always wake up with hydrated and glow-y skin. This sometimes pilled depending on what range of products I used it with.
Bath & Body
Simple Micellar Make-up Remover Wipes
These are my favourite makeup removing wipes! I won’t go into a lot of detail since I have reviewed them before but they remove my makeup so easily. Love them!
Hello Legs Shaving Emulation Lotion
There’s a big whole in this because my boyfriend stepped on it in the tub. XD I loved this shaving lotion! What I liked about it is how smooth it left my skin after shaving. I always find my legs so dry after I shave but with this product, that didn’t happen!
Repurchase? No because it doesn’t seem to be in production anymore.
Bath & Body Works Kiss Pink Jasmine & Blackberry Ultra Shea Body Cream
This stuff smells soooo good. I really liked how moisturizing it was. It absorbed quickly and didn’t leave my skin greasy. I mainly used it as a hand cream but occasionally used it on my body.
Repurchase? No because I don’t think it’s still available.
Cotton 100% Cotton Cotton Pads
These are cotton, right?! 😛 These were actually surprisingly good! They cost me $1 at No Frills. They were very thin but they didn’t break apart at all!
Lip Products / Fragrance
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I really love this lip scrub! To be honest, the scent really gets me. It’s such a sweet smell and yes, it tastes delicious too. 😛 Not that I literally eat it but I definitely lick it off my lips!
My lips feel soooo soft and smooth after using this and I love how plump my lips look after using a scrub. I do find my lips to swell up a little and get kind of red but it goes away quick. This is normal for me. My lips have swelled after eating an apple so… XD
Burt’s Bees Wild Cherry Moisturizing Lip Balm
I like these lip balms but they don’t beat out my favourite Nivea lip balms! I don’t find these ones as moisturizing but I love the scents and they do stay on my lips for a good amount of time.
Repurchase? Maybe. I like trying new flavours.
Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium
I decided to start using up all my little samples from Sephora! This one smells amazing. I have a feeling I will be saying that a lot. XD The notes are coffee accord, orange blossom, cedarwood essence and patchouli essense.
Repurchase? I liked it enough that I would love to have a full size but I have a hard time spending money on perfume.
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
I was surprised I liked this one because I don’t normally gravitate towards flower-y scents. But I don’t find it too flower-y despite the name. It smells, you guessed it, amazing. The notes are jasmine, orange blossom, and patchouli!
Repurchase? Same as the YSL – I like it enough that I would like a full size but I’m not sure I could buy it outright.
I have been trying to remember to write down all my thoughts immediately after using a sheet mask so I don’t forget.
BioBelle #StayGorgeous Facial Mask
What I wrote down for this one is that it lasted at least 40 minutes, had a great fit and stayed put on my face. It left my skin sticky afterwards but it did soften my fine lines and brighten my skin. Interestingly enough, my skin did not feel hydrated after.
Loverecipe Aloe Mask
This one also lasted 40 minutes, had a good fit and stayed put. My skin was left sticky and greasy looking afterwards but I did find my fine lines blurred. I still had redness in my skin and I only found it somewhat hydrating.
TheFaceShop Dr. Belmeur Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask
This mask was different because the mask was gauze like and instead of being drenched with an essence or serum, it was gel like in texture. It lasted 40 minutes on my face and stuck to my skin well. It did leave my skin sticky but I didn’t find it to look overly greasy. It did a good job of hydrating my skin.
TheFaceShop Nourishing Face Mask
This mask lasted 40 minutes in some areas of my face but I found the chin area was dried up in only 20 or so minutes. It did stick well while it was still wet but it was pretty wrinkly on me since it fit big. It does leave the skin sticky but not as greasy as some. My skin looked brighter, felt hydrated and my fine lines softened.
New Age Beauty Retinol Under-Eye Pads
I found these to really do a great job of softening my fine lines but these were the most slippy eye masks I’ve ever used! Despite the fact that they were annoying because I had to adjust them a lot, I did like these.
DevaCurl Buildup Buster Gentle Deep Cleansing Serum
I’ve never used anything like this before! I actually quite liked it. I found it did a good job of removing the buildup without drying out my hair. I used this after shampooing and before conditioning.
Repurchase? I’m not sure about this one. It’s a maybe.
Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner
This would be great for anyone with really thin or flat hair. My hair definitely felt thickened and had a lot of volume after using but at the price of having very dry hair. I try to only use volumizing shampoos if I plan on straightening my hair because when I leave my hair curly, I really don’t need any extra volume! I can’t get on board with dry hair, either.
Nude Omega Treatment Rescue Oil
I can’t give an informative review on this, unfortunately. I used it up awhile ago and just forgot about it. I remember liking it a lot and that it had a sweet scent.
I have been forgetting to include my candles in my empties pretty much regularly. These are the ones I still have that are done now.
D. L. & Co. Blackberry Nectar Soy Candle
I didn’t notice a strong smell from this when it was lit. It was nice but nothing great. Not worth $50, that’s for sure. I love the holder though and I will keep it to put my eyeliners in!
Bath & Body Works Candles
I’m not going to go into much detail on these because some are from quite awhile ago. The minis are Cinnamon Sugared Donut (one of my faves) and French Caramel Cake. The latter’s container melted real good. That must be why they switched to glass for the minis!!
The 3-wick candles are Guava Colada, Mango Mai Tai, and Red Velvet Cupcake. I found the two fruity ones to smell amazing when lit but the Red Velvet Cupcake didn’t have much throw. I just learned that term. XD For those like me who didn’t know, it basically means how the candle smells when lit and how far away you can smell it from.
Repurchase? Not the Red Velvet but I would repurchase the other ones.
That’s it! I know that was a crap load of empties and this was super long! Thanks for reading and I would love to hear your thoughts or experiences with these products! Take care loves!
