The One with the Topbox September 2017 Box

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I’m in the midst of planning my 500 blog followers giveaway! I have so many awesome goodies put aside for you guys and I’m still continuing to pick up more! I’m getting close to the 500 mark and want to give back to you guys for supporting me! ❤ I’m really excited to be able to do this for you!

Back to the post – today I am sharing with you my September Topbox! This month, I opted to go with the regular box instead of a privé. I love the surprise that comes with the regular box so let’s see what I got!

Topbox September 2017

What is it? Topbox
How much is it? $12 CAD per month (plus tax)
Ships to? Canada
Shipping costs? Free
What’s inside? 4 deluxe sample or full size beauty products

Avry Beauty Ultra Nourishing Chamomile Gloves

Avry Beauty Ultra Nourishing Chamomile Gloves

I have used hand masks in the past and I absolutely love them. I find it a perfect opportunity to pamper myself. I pop in a movie, I put my gloves on and I enjoy the film with no distractions! A lot of us are probably guilty for playing around on our phones instead of paying full attention to what we are watching. Wearing gloves like these ensures that you stay off the phone!

This appears to be a salon brand and there really isn’t much information on the package or their official website about the product. On DirectNail.com, it explains that they contain Shea Butter which is rich in Vitamins A, E and F. They are supposed to be moisturizing and nourishing.

I have to say that the instructions on these are very weird. Instead of just popping them on, leaving them for however long, and then removing them, they are instructing you to “cut finger tips and pull back to expose fingers. Push back cuticles.”

What?! I just find that so weird and such an unnecessary step. When I get around to using these, I will not be doing that. If I want to push back my cuticles, why wouldn’t I just wait until I’m ready to take these off, and then push them back?! Cutting off the tips just seems like a big pain in the butt.

Retail Value: $1.10 USD / $1.36 CAD x 2 (full size)

IBY Beauty Highlighter in Bubbly

IBY Beauty Highlighter

At first glance, this appears to be way too dark and opaque to be considered a highlighter. In the pan, it looks to be a deep peach shade. It looks like more of a blush or an eyeshadow. But after swatching, I finally understood how it is actually a highlight!

Not only does it blend out so nicely but it leaves a peachy sheen on the skin. It’s really nothing like how it appears in the pan. It’s also very velvety to the touch. It has some kickback in the pan when used with a brush. I’m not sure if I can pull off this shade of highlighter but it certainly is beautiful to look at! I may actually end up trying it out as a blush topper and see how that goes!

This shade is called “Bubbly” and is currently only available in this deluxe size. The full size is coming sometime this Fall. I haven’t heard of IBY Beauty before but I am impressed with the quality of this highlighter!

Retail Value: $5 USD / $6.17 CAD (deluxe size)

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting

This is a product that I have received 3 or 4 deluxe samples of since being introduced to it. For the most part, I find it to do as it claims – it brightens the skin and evens out your skin tone. It’s also supposed to correct dark spots and prevent them from appearing. I have acne scars and I didn’t notice these to be corrected after using this.

Generally I really like Caudalie and I wouldn’t say I dislike this product. But I’m not head over heels for it either. I think it’s a good enough brightening serum; I just feel there are better ones out there. It never left me feeling like I needed the full size. With that said, I will absolutely use this up as I usually have a brightening serum in my rotation of morning skincare!

Retail Value: $29.66 CAD for 10 ml (full size is $89 for 30 ml)

GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

I have used this product before also. I found this mask to tingle, just as it describes, and it can be kind of alarming at first if you’re not used to it! It did not irritate my skin, luckily, or cause any redness. I would be worried for people who have sensitive skin, though! It left my skin feeling super smooth from the exfoliation but also, my pores appeared tighter, my complexion brighter and my fine lines softened!

It contains French Sea Clay to “minimize the look of pores and lift away impurities and toxins without disturbing the skin’s essential oils,” Volcanic Pumice Rock to “exfoliate, minimize the appearance of fine lines, and soften rough skin texture,” and Green Tea Leaves to “deliver skin-loving squalene, super antioxidants, and polyphenols.”

This is another product that I don’t think I’d run out and buy the full size of but in this case, it’s more because of the hefty price tag. I will certainly use up this deluxe size and enjoy it while it lasts!

Retail Value: $24 CAD for 15 ml (full size is $79 for 50 ml)

Total Retail Value: $62.55 CAD

Final Thoughts? To pay $12 for $62 worth of product is a fine deal. Thank you Topbox! I like all 4 items that I received which is something I can’t say every month but I think Topbox has been doing an excellent job lately. While I love to get a good deal, if it’s 4 products I won’t use, that’s $12 wasted, right?!

I’m excited to try out the gloves as well as use the GlamGlow for a mask night! I also think the highlighter has great potential so I’ll have to play around with it a bit more!

Did you get a Topbox this month? I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you got in the comments!
