I love when my Ipsy bag not only arrives on time, but early! I got this on Friday when I usually get it later. I just got my Topbox in the mail today also (and it’s a great one!) so I’m really excited about my subscriptions this month.
What do you guys think of the bag design? I feel like it’s a love or hate type bag this month! For those that don’t know, this adorable lazy egg is a Sanrio character named Gudetama! He is the egg that literally cannot even. I think this bag is super cute but I can definitely see why it wouldn’t be someone else’s cup of tea. I love that the zipper says “meh…” on it. XD Such a nice small detail. And the back has a little egg bum! XD
Each month, we have the option to email Ipsy to ask for a particular item from a group of around 6 products to guarantee in our bag. I always go to My Subscription Addiction to find out what the products are and I email firstname.lastname@example.org and simply ask for what I want!
This month, I asked Ipsy to send me the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. The other options were Ciaté Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner in “Black,” Tony Moly I’m Real Sheet Masks in “Green Tea” and “Lotus,” Nomad Cosmetics Illuminating Highlighter in “Midnight Sun,” OFRA Cosmetics Eyeshadow in “Gold Rush” or “Victory,” and Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet.

Let’s take a look at what was inside my bag this month!
111Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel
This is the item I am most excited about in my bag! Eye creams have become a must in my skincare regime and I definitely go through them very quickly since I use them day and night. This product claims to do it all – brighten, hydrate, and minimize puffiness and fine lines. It also claims to be the perfect base under concealer! It’s important for my eye creams to play well with makeup otherwise I banish them to my nighttime routine! Ipsy says this is one of the most luxe products they have ever featured in their bags! I feel extremely lucky to get a sample of this!
Retail Value: $64.90 CAD for 5 ml (full size is $194.70 for 15 ml)
Trèstique Mini Correct & Cover Concealer Crayon
I received this in the shade “Porcelain” but you could also get the colour “Bisque.” This concealer looks perfect for on the go! I plan on throwing it in my makeup bag for my purse. It claims to be medium to full coverage but I’ve tried it already and it’s definitely not full coverage. I can see my dark circles through it easily. It works better on my red acne spots. It is infused with coconut oil so it’s supposed to be hydrating, also! The full size of this looks really cool because it comes with a blending sponge on the other end. The mini, unfortunately, does not!
Retail Value: $12.68 CAD (travel size)
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel
This was my choice item! I wash my face twice a day so I go through a lot of face wash. It’s good to have options and backup!! This cleanser is hypoallergenic, vegan, non-drying, brightening, and dissolves waterproof makeup. It also has a very fresh scent and has algae, lavender, Vitamin C and marine flower extract in it.
Retail Value: $1.50 CAD for 7.5 ml (full size is $30 for 150 ml)
Chella Eyebrow Cream
This is in the shade “Tantalizing Taupe” and is the only miss of my entire bag. I’m not sure why I continue to get brow products for dark eyebrows? I got a dark brown Skone brow product from Ipsy before, also. I definitely have it checked off that I’m a blond and I also remember reviewing that product poorly in hopes I wouldn’t get such an awful shade match again.
I actually sent Ipsy an email about it as soon as I saw the bag reveal but they wouldn’t do anything about it, unfortunately. The guy just told me that the product works for blondes also, and to make sure I review my products (which I totally already do). Well, I tried it out and it definitely does not work for blondes! It is sooooo dark on me. It looks ridiculous. The product itself looks really awesome and is easy to use! Their website even shows that they have two lighter shades than the taupe. One is blonde and the other is light brown. So clearly this shade is not meant for blondes!
Retail Value: $23.81 CAD for 1.3 g (full size is $32.96 for 1.6 g)
Seraphine Botanicals Ginger + Gold Illuminating Peach-Gold Blush
I just recently found out that this brand is owned by So Susan! I have a blush from Seraphine already that I loooove and use often. I’m so happy to get this product because it is simply beautiful! I love the shade! As described in the title, it’s a shimmery peachy gold colour. I don’t own anything like it for my cheeks! And if it turns out that I don’t like the colour on my cheeks, I know I love colours like this for my eyes, so it will make a great eyeshadow. I feel like it could also make a good highlighter! This is such a good summer colour because it’s very glowy! It also looks a lot more sheer in a swatch, which is something I like because I don’t like my blushes pigmented.
Retail Value: $17.74 CAD (full size)
Total Retail Value: $120.63 CAD
Final Thoughts? This has to easily be the highest value for an Ipsy bag that I’ve ever received, thanks to the eye gel! I think I got a great assortment of items, too. The items I am looking forward to using the most are probably the eye gel and the blush! My least favourite item is the eyebrow cream but that is only because of the terrible shade match! I am actually interested in looking into a lighter shade! I love the format of the product and found it super easy to use.
I hope you all enjoyed your bags this month! What did you get? What were your favourite and least favourite items?!
Take care, loves!
