The One with “A Month of Shopping” June 2017

Hola! Today’s post will be showcasing what I splurged on in the month of June! I think I actually did pretty well considering I was trying to cut back. I wanted to save money for Generation Beauty, so that I could spend while I was there! I did end up buying some makeup and skin care from Pixi, Pur-Lisse and Mac that was already showcased in these posts.

I also did a Sephora order which I have yet to post about (but will get around to at some point) so maybe it looks like I did better than I actually did. XD But I’m still glad I managed to keep my spending at a minimum.

Let’s take a look at what I bought!

Loblaws In-Store

Loblaws is a grocery store but it also contains a pretty decent cosmetics section. While I was perusing the makeup aisle, I came across a few Joe Fresh items that tickled my fancy.

In particular, I was looking for a new eyelash curler. I must have odd shaped eyes because almost every one I buy is not the right fit for me. This one looked like it would be good but when I got home and tried it out, it turned out to be too curved for my eye shape. So I ended up taking the little pad thing from this one and sticking it in my old one because that was the main reason I needed a new curler. I can’t remember for sure how much it cost but I think it was around $6.

I then found these awesome point tip cotton swabs! They looked perfect for cleaning up eyeliner, mascara, etc. so I thought I’d pick them up! It’s an expensive buy compared to a regular cotton swab but I know I won’t go through them too fast. They cost around $6 or $8. I can’t remember again. XD

The last Joe Fresh item I picked up was the velour powder puff! It was on clearance for $1.94 so I thought, why the heck not?! I had just recently bought one from Sephora but I figured this would be a good backup.

Shoppers Drug Mart In-Store

I haven’t bought mascara in a year or more because I am constantly getting samples and full sizes from subscriptions, Gen Beauty, value sets, etc. But with all the talk about this L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara, I was so curious. I had to try it! I think it pretty much lives up to it’s hype. I will say it is 100% better than the Too Faced Better Than Sex that it keeps getting compared to. Lash Paradise does not flake or smudge – I had the worst luck with BTS smudging for me. I also think it makes my lashes fuller and longer than the BTS. This was around $11.99 so it’s quite the steal. My only complaint is that I have to use a different lengthening mascara first because I don’t quite get the length I crave with just the Lash Paradise.

Another month, another Amazon order!

So many good Disney movies have been released on Blu-ray lately so of course I had to pick up the new version of Beauty and the Beast and an old classic, Bambi. They cost $24.96 each.

I also picked up the Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Deep Conditioner as an add-on for $3.14. I haven’t searched far and wide for this or anything, but I always check when I’m in Walmart, and they don’t carry this coconut oil version. I love all of the Hask masks that I’ve tried but this one is definitely my favourite so I had to pick it up!

Not pictured: I forgot to include the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray in my photos. I also purchased this from Amazon and paid $14.96! I always like to keep this setting spray on hand, even when I stray temporarily to try out other sprays!

Midori In-Store

I walked by this store one day last month and the window set up caught my eye. There was this plush Luna from Sailor Moon along with other famous characters like TotoroHello Kitty and various Pokémon. I had to have the plush Luna! She cost me $25! I could have bought a billion things from this store. Everything was so cute! In addition to all the plushies, they had adorable stationary, backpacks, tea sets, Korean beauty products and more. I’ll definitely be going back at some point!

I love getting mail and I love getting samples so getting free samples in the mail is my cup of tea! In June, I received a sample of the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for normal to oily skin. I’ve tried this before and love it.

I got the Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Progressive Anti-Wrinkle and Firmness Correcting Care (deep breath) and the Liftactiv Serum 10 Supreme Youth Power Serum Accelerated Renewal. Wow. Those are long names.

More L’Oreal samples but these ones are hair care from the line Ever Fresh. I got the balancing shampoo, conditioner and micro exfoliating scrub!

Lastly, I got some free samples from Cerave including the Skin Renewing Cream Serum and Night Cream. I’m excited to give these a try!

And there we have it! As you can see, I really didn’t go overboard last month. I did have a few moments of weakness (I could have had a lot more in Midori!) but not as many as usual! XD I feel like I’ve already bought this much in July and we’re only halfway, lol.

What did you ladies buy in June? Anything you are loving or regretting?!

xoxo, Tigritsa
