The One with the Topbox February 2017 Box

As you may know, Topbox recently started sending out emails with information on the 4 products you get instead of sending the product card in your box. I actually got a different box than what the email said, so I was surprised when opening it up! I would have been satisfied with either box, though, so I didn’t bother writing them an email about it. Let’s take a look at what I got!

What is it? Topbox
How much is it? $12 CAD per month (plus tax)
Ships to? Canada
Shipping costs? Free
What’s inside? 4 deluxe sample or full size beauty products

Luxie Rose Gold Concealer Eye Brush Brush 211
I am getting a nice collection of Luxie brushes from subscription boxes!  🙂 You may remember, I just got the blush brush from my recent Ipsy bag. And I’ve received 2 other Luxie brushes from past Ipsy bags as well. They are really good quality, vegan, cruelty-free, and they’re super cute too! I’m always happy to get more brushes!
Retail Value: $15.79 CAD (full size)

Bella Aura Skincare Daily Repair Moisturizer
This is a very expensive skin care line that Topbox has been featuring, I think every month since November? I haven’t tried the products yet because I use my skin care items in order that I bought or received them to make sure I use them up before they expire. I am anxious though to see why they are so pricey! Let me know if you’ve used any of their products yet and how you like them!
Retail Value: $30 CAD for 10 ml (full size is $90 for 30 ml)

Smashbox Always on Matte Liquid Lipstick
This is in the shade “Driver’s Seat,” which is described on the Sephora website as “warm pink.” Um, seriously? It’s more of a dark burnt orange-y brown. I don’t know if it’s just my lips but I see no pink at all! It doesn’t look pink in the bottle either. I think it’s a nice colour but it’s not something I would wear. I find the applicator to be very weirdly shaped. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s almost like an oval with a slit down the middle. Very different. There’s no information about the size of this so I’m estimating half the size of the regular size.
Retail Value: $14 CAD (full size is $28 for 0.13 oz)

Estee Lauder DayWear BB Multi-Perfecting Beauty Benefit Creme
What is with some companies and the unnecessary long names? So annoying. But anyway, this is something I’ve seen people get in Topbox the last few months and now I’m finally getting it. This is in the shade “01 Light” and has SPF 35. It is a BB Cream and it “moisturizes, protects, and perfects, all at once.” I’m not sure how many wears I’d get from this itty bitty bottle but I’ll save it for summer when I usually switch over to BB creams.
Retail Value: $8.33 CAD for 5 ml (full size is $50 for 30 ml)

Total Retail Value: $68.12 CAD

GlamSense: Nexxus City Shield Sheer Frizz Resistance Shampoo, Conditioner & DD Creme
Delivered with my Topbox this month was another GlamSense box! More shampoo!  XD  I swear I haven’t had to buy shampoo/conditioner in over a year. I just got a BzzAgent box too with Pantene shampoo and conditioner. So, I’m set.  XD I’ve actually used these Nexxus products twice already and really like them. I don’t enjoy the smell but they worked to control my frizz (which I get a lot of).

Final Thoughts? Another amazing value from Topbox. That’s like Ipsy value right there, for way less money. I did enjoy my box this month, although it could have been better. I’m very happy about my Luxie brush, and the moisturizer. The lipstick doesn’t work for me but the BB cream, I will at least try. So it was hit and miss but for $12 a month, I don’t mind getting one product I won’t use!

xoxo, Tigritsa
