empties, reviews

The One with the Empties January 2017

It’s that time again! I’ve consistently been doing empties posts every 2 months but with the amount of empty products I have, it looks like I better start doing it monthly! These are from December and January and there is a lot so let’s get right to it!

The Face Shop Face Masks – Shea Butter, Kelp & White Tea
These are the packages I remembered to keep. I really like The Face Shop masks. They are inexpensive and work well. The Shea Butter and Kelp masks gave me extra hydration and the White Tea mask brightened and refreshed my skin. My only complaint about their masks is they are really big on my face!

GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment
This little sample left an impression on me. I got a couple uses out of this and I left it on overnight to wake up to extremely moisturized skin. It felt so good! The full size is obviously very expensive but I’ll try to buy deluxe samples from buy/swap groups!

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder
This is the shade 003 Natural. As you can see, it’s shattered from dropping it on the floor! Luckily, I had hit pan awhile before and there wasn’t much left anyway. I really like this powder for controlling my oily skin. I also use it under my eyes and it doesn’t settle into my fine lines as much as every other powder I’ve tried. I’ve already repurchased this!

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Poreless Perfection
I bought this on a whim early last year. It is in the shade 10 Porcelain Ivory. It has a pink undertone which works well for my skin. I was surprised at how much I liked this foundation. It’s a light to medium coverage and it doesn’t look cakey at all. It hasn’t made me breakout either! I’ve repurchase this item, also!

L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads
These are awesome. They exfoliate while they tone and brighten! I did a full review here and I will be buying these again!

L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer
Another great product that I did a full review on here. I loved this! It mixes a serum on one side and a cream on the other. I will be buying another!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Clean & Classic Original
I go through these like crazy. I try to only wash my hair every 3-4 days so dry shampoo helps a lot on the last 2 days. This is one of the best dry shampoos I’ve tried. It works really well to control oil. I always spray it on at night and wake up with refreshed looking hair!

Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner
I redeemed Ipsy points for this after hearing great things. It takes a few days to start noticing results but it tones, exfoliates and brightens the skin. Shoppers Drug Mart just got Pixi in stores so I will finally be able to purchase a full size.

Bioderma Hydrabio Light Cream
I’ve liked almost every product I’ve tried from Bioderma. This is, as you may have guessed, a light cream. It was great because it didn’t break out my skin and it leaves the skin silky. I’m not sure if I’d repurchase simply because it’s a little too lightweight for me.

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Antioxidant Infusion Essence
I finished this months ago but I just happened upon the bottle now. You use an essence before serum, moisturizer, face oil, etc. It’s a little extra but I liked it. Made me feel like I was taking extra good care of my skin!  XD As with most Elizabeth Arden products, they’re a little too pricey for me.

Elizabeth Arden SuperStart Skin Renewal Booster
This is supposed to boost the effectiveness of your serums and moisturizers… I guess like a primer for skincare? It seems like they keep coming up with more products to add to a skincare regime! I don’t think I’ll repurchase only because it’s expensive.

Laneige Water Bank Serum
I wanted to try this after falling in love with Laneige’s Moisture Cream. The serum is just as awesome. It’s super hydrating and sinks into the skin so nicely. I’ll be buying this again!

Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream
I like that this cream hydrated my undereye but to be honest, I didn’t notice any big difference as far as brightening goes. I wouldn’t buy it again unless it was in a set.

Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Eye Cream
I loved this eye cream! I’m buying this again for sure. I used it nightly and this tiny little thing lasted me forever! A little bit went a long way (and I always took too much by accident). I really noticed a difference in my fine lines using this.

Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum
This is my favourite eye serum that I’ve tried. It’s super expensive, though! I have one more sample size left and luckily I was able to buy 3 full sizes off a facebook group for under $15 each!! Ever since I started using this serum, my undereye area has been very moisturized, fine lines reduced, dark circles less noticeable, etc. Definitely recommend it.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
These are good cleansing wipes but I always use real cleanser to wash my face. I am just using these up since I got so many from Topbox. I’d recommend them to those who like using cleansing cloths!!

Ole Henriksen Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths
First of all, these smell amazing. I enjoyed using them for that reason but they aren’t worth the price, in my opinion. I didn’t notice any brightening or hydration from using these.

Bioderma Sensibio Make-Up Removing Micelle Solution
This micellar water is terrific. It removes makeup very well. While the Garnier is more budget friendly, it left an oily residue on my skin which the Bioderma does not! I would like to purchase this again but we will see about the price.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash
This lasted me forever! I bought this over a year ago. Tea tree oil is very effective at fighting acne but also very harsh on the skin so I expected this to dry out my skin. Luckily, it didn’t at all! I loved the cool feeling it left on my face. I’m not sure if I liked the “creamy” aspect of the wash but I think I would buy this again or try the Tea Tree Facial Wash instead!

Well, that’s it for now! I feel very accomplished with all these empties. And the funny thing is, I know I can do even better to get through my stash but some nights, I feel a bit lazy!  😛 I’ll try to do a monthly post from now on to keep it more condensed. Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? Have a great evening, loves!

  1. Wow so many empties – I love it! I really want to try out that Bioderma!!! I’ve heard so many youtubers rave about that product! I also want to try the Pixi Glow Tonic! I haven’t been consistently using toner but I definitely want to. Great post!
