Sometime in the summer, I was sent 4 products from the L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal line! I got them from Influenster but that campaign is long done. Since I used the products a lot in the last 4 or so months and therefore have some strong opinions, I just wanted to do a review for you guys. As a whole, I was pleasantly surprised by this line! Keep reading for my thoughts below.
This scrub cleanser claims to gently exfoliate dull skin, and visibly reveal brighter and more radiant skin. The instructions on the bottle suggest you use it day and night, and while at first I did this for the sake of a proper review, I personally think twice a day is too much and actually switched to about 2-3 times a week. It is not recommended to exfoliate daily, let alone twice a day!
I did immediately notice brighter more radiant skin after using this product, and it also left my skin silky smooth. I also noticed it helped even out my skin tone. I have some redness in my face and after using this, a lot of it went away.
At first, I thought it might irritate my skin because the perlite felt rougher in my hand than the beads in the scrubs I’m used to. But it didn’t end up feeling rough on my face at all. My skin can be sensitive but I haven’t had any issues with this irritating me.
The packaging is an easy to use tube and the product comes out easily. It looks very flashy! It smells heavenly – like citrus! It’s a very light scent, though, so it won’t overwhelm you. The great thing about this scrub is it’s price. $8.97 right now! I think that’s pretty cheap! I’m still using this bottle but I will be buying one when I run out!
These peel pads are designed to resurface dull, uneven tone and rough texture to reveal fresh looking skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles over time. They notably contain 10% Glycolic Acid which is actually a generous amount. Because of this, I think the recommendation of using them nightly is too frequent. Just like the scrub, a couple times a week should be adequate!
I really enjoyed using these! I find they are very gentle on my face. No tingling or stinging. However, they are somewhat drying and they leave my skin feeling tight – I hate that feeling. It is good for my pores though because it helps minimize them. The tightness doesn’t bother me because of the type of product it is and because I’m obviously going to follow up with moisturizer!
I like the container they come in. It looks fancy at first but after you touch it, you quickly realize it is all simply plastic. The screw on top makes sure the pads stay moist. I like that they aren’t soaked (but not too dry). They smell like a mixture of citrus and alcohol, which is different. I don’t hold that against them, though, since they are essentially a chemical peel.
My first impression of these were good but I didn’t think I would rush out to buy them. Now that I’m all out, I realized how much I liked them over time. They make my skin look great and I think for 30 pads with 10% Glycolic Acid, these are a steal for $12.97! I’ll be heading to Walmart since they are on sale!
Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer
This is my favourite product from the Bright Reveal line! It contains 4% Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C and Pro-Retinol to target the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin tone to reveal brighter more youthful skin. I liked it so much that I wanted to use it day and night but I did stick to the instructions and only used it as a night cream.
I had great results from this moisturizer. It’s perfect to use after the Peel Pads because it really helps hydrate the skin. I woke up every morning with such a radiant glow! I used up the entire bottle of this and after a few weeks, I noticed a small reduction in my fine lines and an overall supple look to my skin.
I really like the packaging. It has two tubes that separate what appear to be a moisturizer on one side and a serum on the other. For some reason, it gives me a lot of joy to press the pump and watch the two substances evenly dispense into my hand. Weird, I know, but I love it! It feels very light on your skin, too. It’s not a rich formula. There isn’t much of a smell to this product – just a typical moisturizer scent.
This is the most expensive product in the line at $21.97 but I will definitely pay that. I ran out about 2 weeks ago and I miss it every night! It’s good stuff.
This is similar to the Overnight Moisturizer as it contains Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C and Pro-Retinol and is supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, correct uneven skin tone, and brighten skin. But this moisturizer is for day time, of course, as it contains SPF 30 to protect your skin from the sun!
I wanted to love this, I really did, but I just don’t. I think the Bright Reveal line is great as a whole but this was definitely the weak link for me. I tried using this every day in the beginning but I found myself dreading it, so I eventually stopped. It was just not working for me. Not only did it leave my skin incredibly greasy, it also pilled like crazy which was very frustrating. I ended up having enough of it and gave up!!
While the packaging is probably the most impressive of the 4 products, as it is nice and heavy, and the pump is great, the product itself just doesn’t match up for me. The one pro I will give it is that it has a lovely light citrus smell instead of a typical sunscreen smell. The consistency is very comparable to sunscreen, though!
I can say with confidence that I won’t be buying this. The other products in the Bright Reveal line were so much better. This one is disappointing to say the least. It’s the same price as the Overnight Moisturizer which is too much for this. Even if it were cheaper, I would not buy it.
Final Thoughts? So there you have it. 3 out of 4 of these products have become staples in my skin care regime! The Daily Lotion is so disappointing in comparison but the other 3 are definitely products I will buy and continue to use. Like I said earlier, I got these for free but these are all my honest opinions and I’m getting nothing in return for this review! As a matter of fact, L’Oreal, Influenster, etc. don’t even know this review exists! 😛
